Common questions about planning your Italy trip
How does your Italy vacation planning process work? arrow faq

My Italy vacation planning service starts with a call (or video chat) where you tell me what you're dreaming about: cities, pace, budget, what excites you, what worries you.

Then I build your personalized itinerary: hotels, trains, restaurants, day-by-day plans. I send it to you, we adjust it together until it feels right.

I book everything that can be booked in advance. And when you leave, you have me on WhatsApp for the entire trip. Questions? Problems? I'm here.

What exactly does your Italy trip planning service include? arrow faq

It depends on your trip, but in general my Italy trip planning service includes a personalized day-by-day itinerary, hotel support, restaurant and experience recommendations, transportation guidance, and ongoing assistance before and during your trip.

Everything is tailored to you. I don't use templates or standard packages.

You can see how the process works, step by step, here → [How it works]

Is Italy vacation planning worth it if I hate planning details? arrow faq

Yes. My services are is exactly for people who want to enjoy Italy without spending months researching, making spreadsheets, and still worrying they're doing it wrong.

I take care of everything: where to stay, where to eat, what to see, how to get there. You just show up and live your trip.

If you hate planning, you're exactly who I work with.

When's the best time to start planning my Italy vacation? arrow faq

Ideally 4-6 months before you travel.

That gives us time to find the right hotels (not just "what's left"), book restaurants worth booking, and get skip-the-line tickets for the Uffizi, Vatican, and Last Supper.

But if you're leaving sooner, reach out anyway. I've organized trips with just 6 weeks' notice.

What makes you different from other Italy vacation planners? arrow faq

I'm Venetian. I grew up there. I know Italy from the inside.

But I've been living in Michigan for years — I understand American expectations, what worries you, what you need to feel comfortable.

I speak both languages. Literally and culturally. I'm the bridge. And I stay with you during the trip. I don't disappear after you've paid.

Do you offer personalized tours with a guide, or just the planning? arrow faq

Mostly planning. You travel on your own with my itinerary.

But I can arrange personalized tours with local guides for specific days (Vatican tour, Trastevere food tour, Tuscany wine tasting). It depends on what you want.

Some people prefer total freedom. Others want a guide for the complicated stuff. We decide together.

How can I feel more comfortable with Italian culture if this is my first time? arrow faq

I prepare you before you go with a simple cultural mini-guide: basic phrases, local habits, and small details that help you feel more confident and respectful right away.

Nothing complicated, just what you actually need to know to avoid awkward moments and feel more at ease.

I also have a free downloadable guide that covers this in detail → [Get it here] You'll arrive prepared, so you can enjoy Italy instead of worrying about it.

Do I need to drive in Italy or can I use trains? arrow faq

Depends where you're going.

Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples? Trains all the way. Fast, reliable, affordable.

Tuscany, Umbria, countryside? Yes, you'll need a car. But I'll give you some key tips to avoid expensive mistakes.

If you want the complete picture, I have a paid guide on driving in Italy that walks you through everything → [Link to guide]

How long should my Italy trip be? How many days do I need? arrow faq

When you plan a vacation to Italy, the ideal length depends on what you want to see.

7-10 days: 2-3 cities max (e.g., Rome + Florence + Tuscany)

10-14 days: 3-4 places, more relaxed pace

14+ days: You can add the South, or go deeper into one region

The rule? Better to do less well than more rushed. Quality over quantity.

What happens if something goes wrong during my trip? arrow faq

You text me on WhatsApp and we solve it together.

Train canceled? I tell you how to rebook. Hotel has an issue? I call them and fix it. Feeling overwhelmed or lost? We talk and I walk you through it.

You're not alone over there. You have me on the other end of the phone — available during reasonable hours (I do sleep sometimes, but I've got you covered).

Can I change the itinerary after you've created it? arrow faq

Of course. We build your customized Italy itinerary together until it's perfect.

If you change your mind about a hotel, a restaurant, a city — we adjust. No problem. It's your trip, not my template.

The only limit is timing: the closer we get to your departure, the less flexibility we have with bookings already made.

How much does it cost to work with you for customized Italy vacation planning? arrow faq

Pricing depends on the level of support you need — from a quick consultation to full customized Italy vacation planning.

Instead of fixed packages, I focus on building the right solution for your trip, based on your itinerary, travel style, and expectations.

You can see exactly how it works and what's included here → [How it works]

Your first 20-minute call is free, no commitment, just a conversation about your Italy dreams.

I don't have exact dates yet. Can I still start planning? arrow faq

Yes! We can start with the general itinerary: where to go, how much time you need, what to see.

Then when you have dates, we finalize bookings and practical details.

Actually, it's better to start early, gives you time to think, adjust, dream.

Can you help me plan a trip around my family's Italian heritage? arrow faq

Absolutely. Heritage trips are some of my favorites to plan for Italian vacations.

We research your family's town, find local historians or guides who know the area, maybe even connect you with distant relatives if you want.

These trips aren't about rushing. They're about connection. Sitting in the piazza where your grandparents sat. Feeling what they felt, right where it all started.
